Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security John Kelly issued two memos today that cleared out most of the rubbish of past Administration internal memos and basically declared that federal law enforcement officers are now free to apply any law that Congress passed to discourage illegal immigration.
During the GOP’s upcoming policy retreat in Philadelphia, I urge you and your fellow Republicans to make mandating use of the E-Verify system and ending chain migration legislative priorities, as doing so would fulfill GOP campaign promises to stand up for American workers.
I hope you will cosponsor and support the S. 179, Sen. Grassley’s legislation to mandate use of the E-Verify system. This bill provides for a sensible phase-in of mandatory use of the E-Verify system and will help combat identity fraud. With millions of Americans unable to find a full-time job this legislation is truly important.
I am ecstatic that the Trump administration has issued executive orders to help reform and repair our nation’s broken immigration system. These executive orders fully or partially deal with 6 of NumbersUSA’s “10 Steps to Fix Our Broken Immigration-Enforcement System.” In addition to passing legislation to support these executive actions, I urge you and your colleagues to pass legislation to mandate use of the E-Verify system.
The hiring of illegal aliens is a major problem in our country and the Legal Workforce Act, H.R. 1147, mandates use of the E-Verify system to prevent this from occurring. I am glad you care as much about this problem as I do. Thank you for cosponsoring this legislation.
Please pass legislation that would require all employers to use E-Verify. Mandating E-Verify will prevent illegal aliens from finding jobs and help Americans get back to work.
During an interview with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, MSNBC host Chris Matthews accused Republican Congressional leaders of refusing to bring up mandatory E-Verify legislation because it would rob businesses of cheap labor. I hope you and your fellow Democrats will stand up for American workers by forcing a vote on mandatory E-Verify legislation so that businesses would be forced to hire unemployed Americans.

Perhaps the biggest magnet for illegal immigration to the United States is jobs. Most illegal aliens come to our country in seek of work, and considering that 40% of the illegal-alien population came here legally and simply overstayed their visa, border security is not enough to stop illegal immigration. That’s why I urge you to support legislation that would require all employers to use the E-Verify employment verification system and ensure that they’re only hiring authorized workers. E-Verify expires at the end of September and it’s time for Congress to permanently authorize the program and make its use mandatory for all employers. H.R. 1147, the Legal Workforce Act, would permanently authorize the program and mandate its use. I hope you will push for its passage. Continue reading “Re-authorize E-Verify permanently”
We are glad you cosponsored the Legal Workforce Act, H.R. 1147. This bill provides for a sensible phase-in of mandatory use of the E-Verify system and will help combat identity fraud. With 18 million Americans unable to find a full-time job and millions more suffering from the ramifications of a stolen identity, this legislation is truly important. Thank you for cosponsoring it.
