Congress needs to pass E-Verify to end illegal immigration

I am ecstatic that the Trump administration has issued executive orders to help reform and repair our nation’s broken immigration system. These executive orders fully or partially deal with 6 of NumbersUSA’s 10 Steps to Fix Our Broken Immigration-Enforcement System. In addition to passing legislation to support these executive actions, I urge you and your colleagues to pass legislation to mandate use of the E-Verify system.

Trump’s Executive Order enhances national security and establishes refugee limits

President Trump’s Jan. 27 executive order strengthens national security and establishes limits for the refugee resettlement program. Both actions were highlighted during Donald Trump’s August campaign speech on immigration, and the American people responded by electing him president. I ask that you set aside the misinformation that’s been reported since the order was signed and support these sensible actions.

No additional refugee funding or H-2B increases

We hear that President Obama wants Congress to more than double refugee resettlement spending to $3.9 billion in the upcoming continuing resolution. We urge you to oppose this request and to oppose efforts to extend the provision exempting returning H-2B workers from the H-2B cap.

McCaul border bill won’t secure the border

In recent days, I’ve heard House GOP Leaders talk about using Rep. Michael McCaul’s border bill, H.R. 399, as a starting point for immigration reform. I don’t support this bill, and President-elect Donald Trump already has the authorization he needs to secure the border through existing legislation.
