What about spying on U.S. citizens?
According to the LA Times, you said:
-
Oppose H.R. 1417
Please oppose H.R. 1417, the McCaul-Jackson Lee border security bill. The bill will not secure the border as it actually rolls back current border security laws. Please make it clear that you will not support any bills that make our nation less secure.

Government hypocrisy
“Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured … But not everyone must prove they are a citizen.”

Even ‘centrists’ don’t want amnesty
A new NBC News poll shows that swing voters — what the pollsters dub the “new American Center” — have little appetite for giving illegal aliens a pathway to citizenship. Given this fact, I hope you will not go along with plans to force his amnesty on the American people.
-
Oppose H.R. 15
The Democrats just released their amnesty bill, H.R. 15, and made it clear that they want all illegal aliens to receive an amnesty, work permits, and taxpayer-provided subsidies. I hope you will oppose this attempt to force a “Gang of Eight”-like bill through the House and oppose all attempts to have a vote on immigration bills while the Senate amnesty bill is still pending.
-
Don’t pass any bill that provides a back door to amnesty
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and several pro-amnesty Senators have made it clear that they will use any House-passed immigration legislation to get their “Gang of Eight” amnesty to President Obama’s desk. Rep. Steve Stockman has written a letter to Speaker John Boehner warning of this eventuality and asks him to make sure no immigration legislation reaches the House floor unless it can be guaranteed that it will not be conferenced with Senate-passed comprehensive immigration bills. Please sign this letter and make it clear you do not want sensible House-passed immigration legislation to be used to pass the Senate’s amnesty bill.
-
Oppose H.R. 3141
I hope I can count on you to oppose H.R. 3141, the Biometric Exit Improvement Act of 2013. While the bill tries to set a hard deadline for completion of a biometric exit system at our nation’s borders, it contains a major flaw. It weakens current law by excluding mandatory biometric scans for non-pedestrian traffic at all land borders.

Oppose H-1B expansion
It is disappointing that a reputable company such as IBM would post jobs that preferred temporary foreign workers over U.S. citizens. How are American tech workers, like me, supposed to find work? Please make sure that IBM is forced to hire jobless Americans by reducing, not increasing, foreign worker numbers.

Let me in, you fascist!
I demand to live and work in your fascist country, you miserable racist bastard.
-
No amnesty
Pro-amnesty groups are holding a cynical “Day of Dignity & Respect” for illegal aliens. These groups fail to recognize that an amnesty would undermine those already in the United States legally. Please respect the dignity of legal citizens by drastically and permanently reducing legal immigration.
-
Stop preferential treatment of H-1B workers
As an American tech worker, I find it disgusting that IBM posted jobs that preferred foreign workers on temporary visas over American tech workers, while at the same time, they lobby Washington for increases in foreign workers. How are American tech workers supposed to find jobs when corporations can break the law and hire foreign workers at will? Please make sure that American workers have the first shot at any job, and that the federal government prosecutes companies that hire foreign workers over qualified American workers.

I found the problem

Government shut-down preferable to the alternative
I understand your frustration with the Senate and White House over the shut-down of the government. However, I would offer you this: Nothing that this government has done since Obama took office has been in the best interests of America or Americans. Shutting down the government is preferable to allowing him to continue to destroy what’s left of our country. Furthermore, I hope that your frustration does NOT lead you to caving in to the spendthrift obstructionists, as Republicans seem to be doing these days. Please stand firm, and make this shut-down stand for something. You’re doing a great job so far. Keep up the good work!
-
Take amnesty off the table completely
While we do wish to secure the border, secure the workplace, and mandate use of the E-Verify system, passing any immigration legislation while the Senate’s mass amnesty bill is still active would give the Senate the vehicle it needs to pass a mass amnesty. Please share this message with the GOP Leadership who is considering bringing this legislation to the floor for a vote.
-
Veto all gun control bills
It is imperative that you VETO all gun control bills, up to and including the following:
-
‘No Conference’
I hope you will sign the letter Rep. Steve Stockman has written to House Speaker John Boehner. In it he argues that the Senate will use any House-passed immigration legislation as a vehicle to get their amnesty legislation to President Obama’s desk. I hope you will sign this letter and show Speaker Boehner that he must ensure that amnesty is not passed through a conference committee.
-
Oppose H.R. 1413
I urge you to oppose H.R. 1413, the Border Security Results Act of 2013. While I do wish to secure the border, this bill would have no real impact on border security and would simply give the Senate the vehicle it needs to pass a mass amnesty.
-
Oppose S. 744 et al.
It’s too bad we didn’t get to speak with you over August Recess. Since we were unable to attend your town hall, we wanted to share our views on immigration reform moving through the House this fall. We oppose the Senate-approved immigration bill, S.744, and hope you oppose any legislation in the House that could be used to go to conference with S.744.

Hypocrisy in hiring
I was sickened to learn that companies that have laid off thousands of American workers are now asking Congress to increase the number of foreign workers they are able to hire. I hope you will not accede to their demands and will work to protect American workers. Please read the attached article about their efforts.
