• Pass H.R. 9773

Fourteen consecutive months of zero releases at the border. June apprehensions along the southwest border 94% below the prior administration’s monthly average — fewer than Border Patrol recorded in four days in June 2024. These are the most encouraging border numbers of my lifetime, and I want them to outlast the administration that produced them.

Right now, they won’t. Every one of these results flows from executive policy, and executive policy can be undone with the stroke of a pen. We saw in 2021 how quickly enforcement can be switched off and how fast a crisis follows.

I urge you to support and pass H.R. 9773, the Permanent Trump Secure Border Act, which is now moving through committee. It would make the enforcement framework behind these results — including asylum reform and the end of catch-and-release — permanent law rather than a temporary policy choice. Please make border security something no future administration can quietly abandon, and give Americans an immigration system that finally works for them.
