Democrats have launched a discharge petition to force H.R. 1589, the American Dream and Promise Act amnesty, to the House floor — and they cannot reach 218 signatures without Republicans. I’m asking you to refuse to sign it, and to say so publicly.

The Judiciary Committee just advanced the Permanent Trump Secure Border Act to lock today’s secure border into permanent law and prevent another crisis like 2021-2025. An amnesty vote would undo that message overnight. H.R. 1589 would grant amnesty and a citizenship path to millions while converting temporary humanitarian protections into permanent status — teaching every future arrival that temporary never means temporary. Every amnesty in our history has taught the same lesson — illegal immigration is eventually rewarded — and that lesson is precisely how border surges begin. If enforcement operations in American communities trouble anyone, the honest answer is prevention, not amnesty.

Republicans asked voters for the majority by promising enforcement, and voters delivered it on those terms. Your signature is the margin Democrats need, and withholding it is entirely in your power. Please refuse to sign the petition, encourage your colleagues to do the same, and keep the House focused on passing the border bill instead. Americans voted for a secure border and an immigration system that works for the American people — not mixed messages.
