Please support and pass the border security package now moving through the House, so that today’s border security gains are written into law rather than left to the discretion of whoever occupies the White House next.

Illegal crossings are at their lowest levels in decades, but that progress rests almost entirely on executive actions — and executive actions can be reversed by any future administration. This legislation would make the turnaround permanent: resuming border wall construction, upgrading technology and staffing, disqualifying asylum claims from migrants who passed through safe countries on the way here, strengthening the credible-fear standard so meritless claims are screened out early, ending work permits for claims that haven’t been adjudicated, requiring detention instead of release into the interior, allowing the safe repatriation of unaccompanied children from noncontiguous countries, and reining in the parole abuse that admitted hundreds of thousands of inadmissible aliens outside the law.

With the Judiciary Committee markup happening now, this is the moment your support matters. Please back the package as it advances and help pass it on the House floor. Americans asked for a secure border and finally got one; they deserve to keep it. Thank you for working to create an immigration system that works for the American people.
