Virginia’s new governor rescinded her predecessor’s ICE cooperation order within hours of taking office. With Democrats controlling both legislative chambers and the governor’s mansion, the state is now moving to shield illegal aliens from federal enforcement. This is exactly what happens when immigration policy depends on executive action alone — and exactly why Congress must pass H.R. 2.

President Trump has delivered real results through executive action, but sanctuary states are actively working to undermine federal enforcement. When states refuse to cooperate with ICE, it forces agents out of secure settings and into neighborhoods, putting officers at greater risk. H.R. 2 would codify asylum reform, mandate E-Verify, and criminalize visa overstays — creating federal standards that sanctuary states cannot undo.

Please make H.R. 2 a priority. Americans deserve immigration laws that cannot be reversed with the stroke of a pen or sabotaged by sanctuary states.
