I’m deeply concerned that legislators are waging an immigration offensive that will worsen the job prospects for American descendants of slaves, working class Americans, and U.S.-born STEM professionals. Please make helping the American middle-class your primary legislative focus. More immigration means fewer jobs for the American citizens that need them the most.

I’m glad you support mandatory E-Verify

H.R. 78, the Legal Workforce Act would, within three years, require all employers to run new hires through the E-Verify system. Isn’t this great news? Instead of unscrupulous employers being able to drive down wages and take advantage of illegal aliens, they will now be obliged to hire unemployed Americans and legal immigrants.

Americans need access to untrampled open space

Nature-lovers such as myself care most about biodiversity/species extinction and the incremental loss of America’s dwindling open spaces, e.g., wildlife habitat and wilderness. These problems are a direct and readily-observable result of our nation’s population growth.

Saving wildlife is hopeless while America’s population keeps booming

Although states with high population growth have more political influence, there are considerable drawbacks. America is experiencing a “biodiversity crisis,” mostly from habitat loss caused by our immigration-driven population. Wildlife species keep getting added to America’s list of endangered and threatened wildlife, now exceeding a mind-boggling 1,300 species.

Reduce immigration to strengthen resilience to extreme climate

During the past 20 years, America has lost more than 11.5 million acres to development. A majority of the loss was a result of the U.S. population growing by nearly 40 million people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, our country is poised to add another 75 million people by 2060 — with roughly 90% due to immigration.
