Please cosponsor H.R. 4644 to end the OPT program

The Optional Practical Training (OPT) program for foreign graduates of American universities harms all American and legal immigrant graduates, but it harms STEM graduates the most. Currently, all foreign graduates are eligible for a 12-month OPT visa to work in their fields of study after graduation. To make matters much worse, foreign STEM graduates are eligible for an additional 24-month OPT visa.

DACA ruling should not distract you from the historic border crisis

DACA recipients are still protected, and can work in US. In the meantime, the border remains open, and a record number of migrants are entering (and too often perishing) in the hope of getting jobs. Border enforcement, not DACA protections, must be Congress’ priority.

Lower immigration rates will reduce population growth and save nature.

I believe in welcoming immigrants to America, and having a humane immigration system that respects the dignity of every person. However, I’m concerned about how big our population will grow and, in turn, the fate of our nation’s wilderness areas.

Democratic cities are being overwhelmed by border surge

New York City Mayor Adams is overwhelmed by busloads of migrants coming from the border. Cities closer to the border have been overwhelmed for months. There is nothing compassionate about facilitating a border crisis. End asylum fraud, catch and release, and the abuse of parole authority. Reinstate and mandate the Migration Protection Protocols program.
