Biden’s immigration policies are accelerating America’s population growth

Most Americans agree that population growth comes with serious drawbacks (e.g., crowded highways and schools, lack of affordable housing, water shortages, urban sprawl) and want tighter immigration control from the Biden administration. These results cross party and ideological lines, according to recent polling.

Unless America can achieve a stable population, we will continue to see the irreversible loss of our remaining open spaces. This is why Congress must revisit our immigration policies. The Census Bureau projects the U.S. population will add 75 million people by the Year 2060, with roughly 90 percent of that growth resulting from immigration.

America’s accelerating and unsustainable population growth will continue to exacerbate our environmental problems. I urge you to work to reduce immigration-driven population growth (e.g., eliminate chain migration) to safeguard our environment as well as our quality of life, including that of future generations.

Sincerely,

Greg Raven, Apple Valley, CA
